Original Heroes

Today a great little MiniFigure arrived through our door. Princess Leia in her Alderaan robes. So now it was time to put all my heroes together in one shot.

Christmas Stocking Fillers Pt II

The two Christmas Bank Holidays saw me building my final two Lego sets from the very generous Kim and Rob.

First to be built was the ultra cool Imperial Speeder Bike (30005). It's yet another MiniKit that actually fits a MiniFigure on, so of course it came with a Stormie on board. It rocks! (He has since joined forces with the StormTroopers of the Endor Set.)

Then came a super non Star Wars related treat! An awesome Lego Alien. Not just any alien though.... one of the aliens from the Toy Story Saga.  He came with his own little Spaceship MiniKit (30070) and he is just super dooper!
"ooooooOOOOOoooooo"
After crash landing to Earth the alien seems a little overwhelmed.

Christmas Stocking Fillers

Boxing day saw me build some more of my Christmas Lego models.

The first to be built was a stocking filler from Mikey - which was the newly released Clone Trooper Battle pack - which is an awesome little kit, with a BARC speeder and four MiniFigs. It is ace, despite the figures being of the new generation of Star Wars Lego with their cartooney faces.

The Clone Trooper battle pack (7913) and The Clone Walker Mini Set (30006)
The next to be built were 2 of the awesome little sets given to me by my great and overly generous friend and her, just as generous Lego fanatic Husband.  Both of which were from the 2009 Mini Sets which are MiniKits that are MiniFigure sized.

Firstly came the Battle Droid on a STAP (30004) which is fantastic and which quickly went into battle with my new clones. Then came the Clone Walker kit (30006) which is great too.  My little droid was now definitely outnumbered though.
5 against 1!
I then decided to call it a day on the Lego Building.  I still needed some fun on the bank holiday, so my final 2 kits were left under the tree.

Battle of Endor - Pt II

Wooopppeeee! Father Christmas obviously knew I'd been a good girl this year as look what I found under my Christmas tree yesterday.....

The Battle of Endor (Set 8038)
And what a great set it is! Not only did it come with 12 MiniFigures. Yes 12! It has 3 Ewoks that complete my Ewok figure collection, a super Ewok glider, a catapult (not shown in this pic) and also everyones fave Wookie, Chewbacca (not shown in this pic either as he is driving the AT-ST). Not content with all that excitement, the Imperial bunker is also very special as it has working doors and exploding walls, that can be blown off.

It is GREAT! A bloomin' fantastic set! .... An absolute must for any Star Wars Lego fan!

The set took the whole of Christmas day to build, after having the inconvenience of having to open other pressies, go to the pub, eat a Christmas dinner and go for the annual Christmas bike ride. ;)

I also received some other Lego goodies, but as I had such a great time building this set I decided to save those for today and tomorrow. So the Lego fun can continue for the whole of the festive season.

Hope you all had a very merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas

Last night when I sneakily looked through the curtains into the night sky there were no signs of a sleigh or Rudolph...  but when looking into the street I saw a certain someone delivering pressies on his push bike.

Merry Christmas Everybody!!

Advent - Day 24

I awoke this morning at 7.30 and just couldn't get back to sleep as all I could think of was opening the final doors on Lego Calenders. Two Father Christmases wanted to be free'd from their cardboard slumber.

Firstly was a Father Yoda Christmas.... he is totally awesome.

Secondly in the City Calender we got a great Santa MiniFig. (The legs he came with were grey but I quickly changed them to a red pair)

Norman the Gnome stops fishing to become Santa's little Elfish helper.

Advent - Day 23

Today was exciting in the world of the Lego advents. The Star Wars Lego one provided a cute little Xmas tree (I'll do a pic of it tomorrow) whereas the City advent door hid the long anticipated Police Dog.

Sadly the dog came with the added bonus of Lego fleas, but thankfully (and very coincidentally) Mikey had bought me a Happy Friday pressie, which turned out to be Roger who was able to decontaminate Percy the Police Dog. What a bit of luck!

Advent - Day 19 to 22

What a great few days in both calenders.

In the Star Wars Calender, we have had a super A-Wing today (Day 22), the spectacular Millennium Falcon yesterday, a Tie Fighter the day before that and a Tie Pilot on Day 19.

3 Against 1.
As for the City calender more treats lay in store, starting with a tiny wee safe with some gold bullion on Day 19, followed by a super Skidoo for the criminal to make a quick getaway, then a little sledge/trailer for the criminal to make a hasty escape with the safe in tow and then today the balance was finally restored with a handy police skidoo. Phewph!

In other news, both skidoo's came with an extra ski each which have since come in handy for the hooded fisherman who now has an excellent set of ski's to take him on his fishing trips.

Night time shenanigans in the frozen park.

Only a few more doors left to open... I'm a little sad but there is still a few more days left so I can't be too glum. Yay for Lego Fun!

Battle of Endor

Hehehe! Mischief ensued after Chief Chirpa landed on our doorstep today (with thanks to Mikey and eBay).  As soon as he joined forces with Logray and Tokkat on the shelf, mayhem commenced.

Chirpa stole a speeder bike whilst Tokkat and Logray beat up a StormTrooper, stealing his helmet to use as a drum.

...  Those pesky Ewoks.

Christmas came early...

Last Monday the most exciting parcel was pushed through my door.  A superb Christmas pressie from my friends in Scotland.  They are Internet friends who I met on Flickr, through our mutual fondness for Guinea Pigs. We have been in contact for a while and at the beginning of this year we finally briefly met during their honeymoon in Cornwall.

As I have previously said its only recently that I have admitted my love for Lego and it was only then that I found that Robert also shared this passion.  He said he had lots of swapsies from the first few Mini Figures series which I could have.  He then also offered some of the extra MiniKits that he had picked up over the years.  I was ecstatic. We hadn't really come up with any concrete price but then on Sunday he announced that he and Kim had decided to send them as Christmas gifts.  I was overwhelmed by their generosity and then completely amazed when the package arrived the next morning.

It was all wrapped up in Xmas paper though so I decided to wait until Christmas morning.  However excitement got the better of me.  I wanted to be good, but I wanted to see the Mini figures more!

Mikey was home so he helped me open the package carefully and just remove the bag of mini figures.
(The rest of the contents were then sealed back up and put under the Christmas tree. The mini figures distracting my attention enough to keep my mind off what is still to come.  Watch this space for the MiniKits)

So who did they send me?

From Series 1 The Magician and Clown

From Series 2 The Witch, Surfer and Mariachi man (who is definitely a personal fave)

From Series 3 The Sumo-wrestler, Gorilla Guy (another fave), Racing Driver and a Native American

The detail on this are super, there is a zip down the back and the head has droplets of sweat; from him overheating in his warm suit. I love it!

From Series 4 The Footballer

*****

I really have to say such a HUGE thank you to Kim and Robert. I do not know how I can ever repay them for their wonderful generosity.
