Advent - Day 24

I awoke this morning at 7.30 and just couldn't get back to sleep as all I could think of was opening the final doors on Lego Calenders. Two Father Christmases wanted to be free'd from their cardboard slumber.

Firstly was a Father Yoda Christmas.... he is totally awesome.

Secondly in the City Calender we got a great Santa MiniFig. (The legs he came with were grey but I quickly changed them to a red pair)

Advent - Day 23

Today was exciting in the world of the Lego advents. The Star Wars Lego one provided a cute little Xmas tree (I'll do a pic of it tomorrow) whereas the City advent door hid the long anticipated Police Dog.

Sadly the dog came with the added bonus of Lego fleas, but thankfully (and very coincidentally) Mikey had bought me a Happy Friday pressie, which turned out to be Roger who was able to decontaminate Percy the Police Dog. What a bit of luck!

Advent - Day 19 to 22

What a great few days in both calenders.

In the Star Wars Calender, we have had a super A-Wing today (Day 22), the spectacular Millennium Falcon yesterday, a Tie Fighter the day before that and a Tie Pilot on Day 19.

3 Against 1.
As for the City calender more treats lay in store, starting with a tiny wee safe with some gold bullion on Day 19, followed by a super Skidoo for the criminal to make a quick getaway, then a little sledge/trailer for the criminal to make a hasty escape with the safe in tow and then today the balance was finally restored with a handy police skidoo. Phewph!

In other news, both skidoo's came with an extra ski each which have since come in handy for the hooded fisherman who now has an excellent set of ski's to take him on his fishing trips.

Night time shenanigans in the frozen park.

Only a few more doors left to open... I'm a little sad but there is still a few more days left so I can't be too glum. Yay for Lego Fun!

Advent Day 17 & 18

Well what a few days.

Yesterday (Day 17) was a little disappointing in both advents. It saw the third and final section of the Lego City police Car! Finally! ... I'd starting to get a tad bored of it.  Guess it's pretty cool but after three days I was expecting a Porsche, not a glorified beach buggy. ;-)

The Star Wars one wasn't overly exciting either, as all I found was an odd little umbrella stand.... oops no, its a weapons stand!

Thankfully my disappointment was short-lived as the postman delivered yet another super Mini-figure from eBay. Hehehe! Now I have a splendid little Shadow Trooper. He rocks. Thanks Mikey!

There's going to be trouble tonight, with these 2 conspiring together!
Behind todays advent doors (Day 18) the excitement continued as the City calender had a 2nd criminal behind it. This one definitely means business though - he doesn't just have a snowball in his hand, like the first one, he has a crow bar! He's going to be up to mischief... if the cops don't get him first.

As for the Star Wars calender I had a lovely surprise, as out popped a little Y-Wing. (I say surprise, because I wasn't expecting one at all as there isn't a picture of it anywhere on the box).  It is pretty awesome.  I will photograph it when the TIE fighter arrives. ;-)

Advent - Day 16

... Begun the Clone Wars have!

Today saw the first arrival of my first "exclusively Clone Wars" figure.  In the past I have avoided the newer Clone Wars sets as I'm not really a fan of the cartooney non-yellow Lego men. However today the Star Wars advent hid a little Clone Pilot behind todays door and despite my original Clone Wars reservations, he is pretty frickin' awesome. (For those who aren't Star Wars geeks like me; as well as the excellent original 3 films and the 3 more recent prequels, there was also a further series - an animated Spin-Off set between Episodes 2 and 3 - The Clone Wars.)

Anyway, my new Clone Pilot rocks and as well as enjoying flyng the Mini Republic Gunship around, he has joined forces with my other Clones to cause some mayhem on my shelves.

In other non-advent-related news, today also saw the arrival of another splendid new MiniFig. Someone who I have wanted for sometime now, but never managed to get hold of.

Yay! Sweet and kind Michael had ordered me a Admiral Ackbar MiniFig from eBay which arrived in the post today.  He is pretty damn awesome too.

Advent - Day 14 & 15

Yay! The last few days of advent have provided me with lots of exciting goodies; particularly the Star Wars treats.

Day 14 saw the arrival of a cute little Mouse Droid from the Star Wars Calender and a super forensic desk for inside the Lego City Police station.

Squeak squeak... as if that excitement wasn't enough today was even more spectacular in the Star Wars world. A frickin' awesome mini Republic Gunship. It is AWESOME!

Advent - Day 13

Ooops... todays Imperial Astromech droid was not best pleased to see he was getting a parking ticket for leaving his Imperial Shuttle too close to a pedestrian crossing!

(This pic shows todays advent treats; R2-Q5 and a new police MiniFig (possibly a traffic cop). Also staring the Imperial shuttle that came behind last Saturdays advent door and the police station now in its entirety.)

Advent - Day 12

The Battle of Hoth was revisited this morning when I opened my Star Wars Advent calender and out popped a Rebel Snowspeeder. As soon as I placed it on the shelf it saw the Mini AT-AT and battle re-commenced!

In other Lego news, behind todays door on the City calender we found the last piece of the police station. It looks pretty fab!

Advent - Day 11

Yet another super day from the advent calenders. The Star Wars one provided me with a Droid Pilot Commander who may bring some much needed order to my Droid army.

Whilst the City Calender was hiding another wall for the police station, which is really starting to take shape.

ooOOoo I just can't wait for tomorrow....

Advent - Day 10

Day 10 was a slight disappointment all round.

Although the Star Wars advent provided a super Mini Imperial Shuttle, it was such a disappointing model to build - as it used only 8 tiny pieces to construct it.  I am the first to admit though, that once it was made, it was fab!

As for the City advent, that was a major disappointment, with only a fishing rod, a fish and 4 small pieces of Lego that created the worst camp fire I've ever seen.  Ah well, at least yesterdays "Hooded Adventurer" now had something to do.

Advent - Day 8 + 9

Day 8 and 9 of the Lego advent calender came up trumps by Kitty*Kins
Day 8 and 9, a photo by Kitty*Kins on Flickr.
Wow! So impressed with the last two days of the Star Wars advent calender. It has definitely come up trumps with a Rebel Pilot yesterday and his trusty X-wing today .

The X-wing is awesome and pretty accurate - it even has a little blue stud in the place where the co-piloting R2 unit's head would be. It is ace and probably my fave advent treat so far.

Day 9 was also pretty special in the Lego city calender as it was a hooded adventurer (Mini-Fig), with ice axes to help him navigate the glaciers. I will make sure his picture is posted in the next few days. ;-)

Advent - Day 6 & 7

Christmas "Wookie" style.
The last 2 days treats have been awesome.  Yesterday I got Chewbacca and the City Calender was hiding a Christmas tree.

Then, today saw the arrival of a skateboard, a helmet and some other goodies for under the Xmas tree from the City calender, whilst the Star Wars one gave Chewy his own little storage/work unit.

I'm suddenly feeling all Christmassy. :-)

Advent - Day 5

Wow!

All that disappointment from the previous few days with the Star Wars advent quickly slipped away when I discovered a Mini "Slave I" lurking behind today's door.

It is awesome, and just what the doctor ordered today, whilst I am lying in my sick bed with a stinking cold.

BTW, The City calender was hiding some more bricks for the Police station.

Advent - Day 2, 3 & 4

On Day Two I wasn't disappointed with either Advent treat, we had a snow catapult in the City calender and a Mini-Fig of Nute Gunray in the Star Wars one.  I was much happier with the SW calender now.

Sadly on Day 3 my disappointment returned as I opened the Star Wars calender to find some weird brown and clawed thing, I had absolutely no idea what it was. At first we thought it was some kind of droid, but today I was informed that it is actually Nute Gunray's walking throne. (Oops, I probably would have known this if I had watched Episode One more than twice!) Day 4 provided a much more satisfying Spider Droid.

The Star Wars Advent so far.

Thankfully the City Advent Calender has continued to excite day after day with a policeman on Day 3, and the start of a police station on Day 4.

Advent - Day 1

Back in September, Mikey bought me the Star Wars advent calender, I wasn't convinced that I would be able to resist opening it before the 1st of December, but I left it somewhere out of sight and out of mind.

In the mean time I also bought the Lego City calender; which was ultimately for me, but I bought it knowing so Mikey could open something each day.

Anyway today was the day... time to open them. I was excited. Unfortunately, Mikey had gone to work by the time I had thought about opening them, so I decided to wait for him.

By 6pm I was ready to explode with excitement, sadly on opening it I was hit with disappointment; the Mini-Kit in the Star Wars advent was a let down. Not even sure what it is called. I was gutted! Mikey however, had opened the City one to find a super Mini-Fig; a criminal in a red scarf with a snow ball.

Ah well, there was always tomorrow. ;-) My disappointment was short lived as I anticipated the next days treat.
