Today I combined both my love for riding bicycles and my love for Lego.
Mr A. Stormtrooper decided to come with us. (Mrs Stormie was having her hair done so she didn't join us).
Before we set off, Stormie had a bit of work to do. His front wheel had a puncture. But he soon got it sorted.
Then we set off. The first part of the ride was fun; the terrain was a tad tricky on our road bikes, but we all made it.
9miles later and we made it to the beach - just in time for lunchtime pasties.
Stormie was happy to find a Lego MiniFigure sized castle to explore.
Then we watched the boats (this one looked a little stuck!)
Then we headed home, arriving safely back tired but happy.

A Lego Update
I've neglected this blog for the last few weeks, but don't let that fool you - I've not been neglecting my Lego!
So whats been happening.
Firstly, I completed the Series 3 collection with a number of eBay purchases.
I then completed the Series 6 collection after spending 10 minutes standing in a busy supermarket, under the watchful eye of a security guard, fondling bags until I found the hard-to-find Surgeon and the easy-to-find Lady Liberty. As well as being happy to complete this collection, I was also really chuffed that despite buying all these in the traditional manner of purchasing them in shops, I actually only ended up with one swapsie for this series; which I very quickly swapped with my Mother, who has recently started her very own collection.
Additionally, I have also had fun dismantling the majority of my Star Wars collection. Don't panic, it's not going anywhere.... we were decorating the dining room and it all needed to be relocated to avoid getting paint on. As we have only just finished decorating I am still yet to rebuild it all. But I can't wait to get building.
Finally, I have received a couple more of the Series 1 and 2 characters. The Vampire, The Traffic Cop and The Karate Master (series 2) and the Caveman, Forest man and Deep Sea Diver (series 1).

Books; The Lego Book and Standing Small
This week has been pretty quiet on the Lego front (compared to last weeks haul) but yesterday came the greatest surprise.
Two weeks ago we had bought our good friend The Lego Ideas Book for her birthday. I had very much wanted one for myself, but as it was the last one in stock, I couldn't treat myself. I was a little sad but at the same time very excited as I knew our friend would very much love it!
Anyway, on Thursday, Mikey came home with an unexpected gift for me. A box set of 2 Lego Books. He had bought it thinking it contained the same as the one we had bought our friend, but in fact it was different and equally super.
First out of the box came The Lego Book. It is fantastic and and documents the fantastic Lego history. Then out came a super dooper book that celebrates the MiniFigure; Standing Small.
Both books are awesome and a definite must for any fan. Every page is full of great pics and they are choc a block with fantastic Lego facts.
Did you know that there are over 4 billion MiniFigures in existence. That's 66 times the population of Britain!
I am now most definitely a Lego anorak! .... And proud!!

A week of MiniFigures
With my Series 4 collection complete and still little access to the Series 6 figures my withdrawals resulted in me becoming a little more obsessed with Lego and I spent last weekend ordering Series 3 MiniFigures from eBay and they have been landing on my doorstep all week long.
Before then, I only had the four that Rob and Kim had given me for Christmas. I had the Gorilla-suit Guy, the Sumo-Wrestler, the Tribal Chief and the Race Car Driver, but now I wanted them all.
First to get ordered was the Samurai Warrior. He is a great MiniFig and was a little more pricey than his £1.99 RRP but as he isn't available to buy in shops anymore I couldn't grumble and when he arrived I wasn't disapointed. The next on my most wanted list was the Hula Dancer and I found her at a very reasonable price and saw that her seller also had the Baseball player and the Mummy. Obviously I bought them all!
I then wanted the Pilot; he is a fine gentleman with a spectacular moustache - I imagine he used to fly biplanes etc. I found him quickly and got him for a very reasonable deal along with the Space Alien, the Tennis Player and the Rapper.
I was now on a roll and couldn't stop here, I was nearly complete! The next on my list was the Elf. Most were going for a tidy profit as he is quite a collectible and pretty rare, but I managed to win one at a not overly expensive price. His seller was also selling the Space Villain/Cyborg but annoyingly I got outbid at the last minute before he was immediately re listed. I can only hazard a guess that the buyer wasn't happy at letting him go at £1.99 as I'd paid considerably more for the Elf. After then losing the bid on the re-listing, I gave up and decided to find another seller for the Cyborg. In the meantime I had also won auctions for the fabulous Fisherman and the Snowboard chick.
Hehehe. With a few arriving on my doorstep each day this truly has been a great week for MiniFigures.
As well as all the Series 3 eBay purchases I have also managed to get my hands on a few more series 6 figures. Firstly, on Thursday when we went to the not-so-local-toy-shop; where I found the Bandit, the Minotaur, the Space Alien and the Flamenco dancer. Then on Saturday I discovered they had finally made it to our Local Toy Shop. Here, I only managed to find three; The Roman Solider, the Genie and the Butcher before a small boy pushed in between me and the box where he stood irritating me. Most annoyingly the first one he picked up was Lady Liberty who I had been looking for for the last 5 minutes. Grrr! Kids, eh? ;-)

Dancing on Ice
Yay! Following the arrival of the Ice Skater (ordered from eBay) earlier today my series 4 collection is complete.
To celebrate her arrival, the Ice Skater does an impromptu show-stopper under the watchful eye of Pip and Holly.
A big thank you goes to Tom for his swapsies; the Artist and Punk and also Rob who gave me the Footballer. Thanks fellas.

Skate Mates
Tom and the Skater Chick have really hit it off. It started with them just skating together; poppin' ollies, kickin' flips and doing grinds (?!) and now they are inseparable.
In other news I went a little crackers on eBay the other day and ordered 8 MiniFigs from Series 3 and also the elusive Ice Dancer to complete my Series 4 collection.... hehehe!

Series 4 - Revisited
With still no sign of Series 6 in our nearest toy shop (Apparently, the delivery man hadn't packed them on the van.... silly sod!) I was feeling a little downhearted.
However, the shop lady said she still had a full box of Series 4, if that helped feed my habit. I was about to say I had them all when I realised that I actually hadn't ever finished my Series 4 collection. In fact I still needed four!
Wooppeee.... my mood lightened as I started to rummage through the box. We had only fondled a few when we found the Geisha.... next came the skater boy, followed by the Viking. Awesome! Now I only needed to find the Ice Dancer. She was going to be hard to find and we were rapidly running out of time on our car-park ticket. I gave up, but I wasn't sad... I had three great figures to open. I was a happy bunny.
On arriving home the bags were torn open and again I wasn't disappointed. All great figures! Lookie!
Now just the Figure Skater to get to complete my collection. Hope she wont be too hard to find. She's probably my least favourite but even still it would be great to complete the collection.

Crime fighting Duo
Whilst in the Toy Shop on Wednesday I treated myself to something that little bit special, as well as all the Mini Figures. I didn't intend to but it just kept calling me. I had to buy it. I needed it!
My friend Rob, had bought it a few days earlier and his awesome photo's of it, made me want it even more.
So what set was it?
It was one of the new DC universe - Superheroes sets. Superman Vs Power Armour Lex (Set 6862). Not content with providing a great new Superman mini fig (complete with hair curl) and an evil genius Lex Luthor, their was an additional bonus of Wonder Woman. What more could a girl want? As well as the fab Mini Figures, the fully poseable Robot was great fun to build and contained my first ever purple Lego bricks.
It is an absolute must for any serious Lego and Superhero fans! Hehehe... I'm such a geek!

Series 6... the 2nd wave
On Thursday morning I couldn't contain my excitement and I tore open the final three bags from yesterdays haul before eating my breakfast.
First to pop out was the Leprechaun and the wee little fella is adorable, so he is. Then came the mechanic, with his greased back quiff.... he is real greased lightening! Finally out came the Skater Chick... she is pretty rockin' too!
Sadly I have no more Lego 6 to open now and our usual store still doesn't stock them. Ah well, I still have something pretty special to open tomorrow. =)

Woop... Series 6 has arrived
Today my first series 6 Mini Figure arrived! The first one came in the post this morning (I had been getting impatient so Mikey had ordered me a Lucky Dip one from eBay. I got the Grumpy Scot. He is cool and has a pretty impressive mullet!
Typically though, when passing a local toy shop I saw a BIG poster outside indicating the new arrival of the Mini-figs. So as soon as I finished work it was time to rush in and fondle some bags. The first bag felt like the Clockwork Robot! I continued to fondle.... and fondle. A few more that I possibly recognised, but I just couldn't find the one I WANTED! I couldn't leave without the teddy bear and his pyjama wearing friend. Since seeing the sneak preview pics of series 6 he was my fave.
Thankfully we finally found him. With the suspected teddy package and 5 other bags safely in my hand we left the shop. I hadn't opened any at this point despite the shop keeper offering me some scissors. I planned to open one a day. I would be good!
Well those best intentions didn't last too long, no sooner as we got home I started fondling the bags again in order to find the PJ fella. I ripped the bag open and I wasn't disappointed. He is simply awesome, as is his adorable teddy bear.
I have managed not to open any more this evening. Tomorrow the other three will probably get torn open. I suspect they are the Leprechaun, the mechanic and the skater chick. Stay posted to see how wrong/right I am.

The boy has two faces, a tired one and a sleeping one! |
I then continued by fondling the other bags. Whilst trying to re-find the Teddy bag I now had suspicions that we had made a mistake. A terrible mistake! One of the bags now felt like it was the one and only MiniFig I didn't want. The pink astronaut! Pfft!
I was disappointed now; I needed cheering up again. Time for another bag. Out popped the Robot. He was awesome.
I then decided just to open the pink astronaut, I may as well do it now to avoid disapointment another day. She wasn't as bad as I had initially thought - she looks better with her helmet on and without the strange blue laser coming out of her laser gun (not photographed)
