Series 9 - a 3rd serving

As soon as the Christmas Bank holidays were over it was back to the Toy Shop for me..... Phewph, there was still a box full of Series 9.  Time to fondle some bags.

First I found what was probably the Fortune Teller - easily identified by her Triangular dress (instead of Legs) and the two small pieces that are Tarot cards.  Next up was the Hollywood Starlet (aka Marilyn Monroe) again identifiable by her dress and then finding her Oscar/trophy.

... Xmas Lego Surprises continued

After an eventful Christmas morning.... my Mum popped round to give us our Christmas pressies before we joined her for lunch. As always there were lots of little goodies to be shared but we also had a main one each.  Mine was in a big square box.  I shook it. (A habit of a Lego addict!) Its didn't rattle at all. It wasn't Lego!

A Lego-ey Christmas

Phewph, despite Mikeys announcement on Christmas Eve Eve that he hadn't got me any Lego, my Christmas ended up pretty darn Lego-ey. =D

Recognising his error... he ran out on Christmas Eve and returned with a bagful of Lego.  (Plus we had also failed to realise that other people may also buy me Lego too.)

Woop! Series 9 are here!

A few days ago I was shocked to see a few pics on Flickr of some Series 9 Minifigs.... They weren't supposed to be out until January!

Anyway, I was heading into town last Friday so I popped in the newly re-opened Toy Shop to see if they had a release date. The toy shop had changed quite a bit but the Lego shelves were pretty much empty.  We had a browse at other stuff and I was just heading towards the door, when I felt a tap on my shoulder.  Mikey had spotted a box on the counter.  It was Series 9!

I gasped! The lady behind the till laughed.  I told her off for not telling me (she knows me) and she said she had told Mikey a few days ago. What? He never told me? Turns out she hadn't told him! She had mistakingly told him they had Series 8, which he knew I had. (They had been closed when it had first released.)

Lego Advent - Christmas Eve

It's Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!

Behind doors 24 popped out two Father Christmas shaped figures.... the City one and the awful Darth Maul one (Lego didn't really stand a chance of pleasing me here though as Maul is my very least fave character from the Prequels)

Lego Advents - Day 23

I woke up very excited on the 23rd. The Star Wars calender was surely hiding R2D2 behind its door. I wasn't disappointed. There he was all shiny and snowman like. Completely Love it. Thanks Lego. =D

Lego Advent - Day 21 - 22

Day 21 was a huge disappointment in the City calender - three tiny bits of road furniture.  Thankfully, and not for the first time, the Star Wars Calender saved the day by providing a super "Super Battle Droid". (I am so grateful that Mikey bought me the SW calender for my birthday, as despite my own unwillingness to buy it for myself due to the crappy cartoony Darth Maul figure... the calender has not disappointed as much as the City one.)

Lego Advent - Day 19 & 20

Day 19 was another fun day in the City Calender with the arrival of another Fireman. Fred was delighted to have some male company after a week with his female companion who is only interested in keeping her hair extensions in tip-top condition. (??)

Lego Advent - Day 16 & 17

FINALLY..... The City Calender gave us something exciting..... a little Girl with a couple of snowballs on Day 16 and a snowball catapult on Day 17.  Phewph, it really was overdue something exciting.
